Blogs, Blogs, Blogs! Entry #0
Before ENG102 and the research I have now done, my knowledge of blogs was rather limited. After delving into the world of blogging, I have found that I really enjoy reading them and have learned so much! Unlike papers and essays, which often leave me feeling overwhelmed and unqualified, blogs leave me with a unique excitement to write. They seem less intimidating and I have found inspiration by reading blogs!
There are several aspects of the blog that stand out to me. Depending on the blog, they are generally more approachable and easier to comprehend. The content is often broken up, making it more engaging and interesting. I appreciate visuals and photos that correspond with the writing. Additionally, having direct links and sources not only add to the aesthetic appeal, but also makes the content more efficient to navigate.
One blog that I particularly enjoyed was Cup of Jo. What draws me to it is the authenticity that it has. Reading the articles make me feel as if I am having a casual conversation with someone in person. The interactive comments create a sense of community, making the whole experience more enjoyable. Personally, I gravitate personal and lifestyle blogs that I can relate to on a deeper level. I seem to be someone who fits in the blog's target audience!
On the flip side, a blog that did not resonate with me as much was Mashable. While it was undoubtedly well-organized, it lacked the welcoming and fun atmosphere that I seek when reading a blog. Nevertheless, I do appreciate how put together it is and how clearly the content is displayed.
To sum everything up, my dive into the world of blogging has already broadened my perspective but also ignited a new excitement for writing! I am looking forward to learning how to write interesting and well-done blogs.
